Photoshop Tutorial Embed An Image Into Text

Photoshop Tutorial: Embed Text into an Image. In this tutorial we will demonstrate a simple and easy technique to embed any image into text. This can be useful for a business header, website or blog logo header. We achieve this effect using multiple layers and adding blending options like drop shadow and inner shadow. All images are different in their appearance, experiments with the blending options adjusting the settings until you are happy with the look of your text.

Create a new canvas with suitable dimensions for your header, creating a new layer we will give a background colour to fully enhance our text. After we have written our text we create a new layer then place our image on that new layer. As the image is placed over the text the written content will disappear, to bring our text back to the forefront drag the text layer and place it above that of the image layer. This will help you identify what part of the image will appear on the text, to help you can adjust the opacity of the text until you see the image behind; this will give you a perfect view of what part of the image will appear on the text when your project is finished.

When happy with the text placement again drag the text layer below the text layer so the text is clearly visible and on top of the image. Select the top layer (image), go to layer- show all menu options and create a layer mask.
