In this tutorial we demonstrate how to include Meta tags to your website, although the major search engines no longer reference your site description or keywords meta tags there are still many useful purposes for the tags and a lot more than the usual keyword and description tag.

The author tag will help visitors locate a particular authors work if they provide content and articles for your website, by having the author tag this allows fans of the author to easily locate his work through the search engine.

The Global meta tag will index your content globally, whereas if you offer a local service you can adopt the local tag to allow local users to find your site.  As an example if you have a cleaning business based in the UK then you are not likely to take on a job in Australia, so the Global tag will server you no purpose, but the local tag will allow you to attract local customers from your surrounding area.

The rating tag will allow you the option to place a safe for kids tag, if your site is indeed child friendly them using this tag will attract a monitor who will review your site, if deemed sutible then it wioll be indexed in the safe for kids, if parents have this turned on then you will pasds as your site has been reviewed.
