Dreamweaver Columns & Layout

In this dreamweaver tutorial we continue with the teaching and development of creating a website, in this particular tutorial we focus on div tags and CSS to design the look and layout of our index page.

Before you begin this phase it is a good idea to visit other websites to give you a rough idea of what layout you wish for your website, or even sketch down on a pad what you are looking for. For this dreamweaver tutorial we will stick with a traditional layout with the following areas Header, Navigation, Side, Main and Footer. With a little creative imagination you can overlap column areas and with a good knowledge of cascading style sheets you could create an impressive layout that will stand out from your competition.

Be careful and make sure you are happy with your website layout as the next step in our process will be to create our template, any changes can be undo but the more content you have in the website the more issues you will create in changing the layout of your website.
