Anchor links, unlike usual links that will take you to another page anchor links will navigate you to a specific part of.   As an example you may have come across many terms and conditions page that can be quite lengthily, for this reason you can create an anchor link, this is usually done next to the heading tag so the visitor is taken directly to that particular term, rather than having to scroll through lots of content.

In this Dreamweaver tutorial we will demonstrate how to link to a specific part of the same page, or to a specific location on another page.  This comes in very useful when you have a page with a lot of content you can offer a link back to the top of the page.

Anchor links are best used on pages that offer a lot of information and are broken into sub categories with heading tags.
