When designing any website we usually surf the web looking for inspirational techniques, this may be a certain layout you like the look of, the use of certain colours or it may be an individual element you wish to include in your own website.  Before I go any further I must stress do not create a carbon copy of another website, there are certain parameters within algorithms that can detect not only duplicate content but duplicate use off elements that make up a website.

When you locate an element or something within a web page to get to the code right click on your mouse and from the options select view source code. This will not provide all the answers but will give you a basic understanding of how the page or element within the page has been set up, you can also view the CSS code to locate the elements within the cascading style sheets that make up the attributes of the source code area.


Inspect Element

The Inspect Element will launch the browsers developer tools in a pop up page, this will assist you better understand the cascading style sheet elements and attributes that help design the page you are looking at.
